PSPB is hosting the 1st PSPB inter Unit swimming Tournament 2021-22 at Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Swimming Pool Complex, Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi from 30th April – 02nd May 2022.
There are six member oil companies will be participating in the event.
Suraj Shahu (Men) of HPCL, Pushpendra Batham (Veteran) of BPCL and Keerti (women) of IOCL won the 50 meter Freestyle events of 1st PSPB Inter-Unit Swimming Tournament 2021-22.
Day 1
The 50 meter Freestyle (Men, Women and Veteran categories) FINAL was held on the opening day of the 1st PSPB Inter-Unit Swimming Tournament 2021-22 where players from different units of Oil Member companies were in contention for the title.
In the Men’s event, Suraj Shahu of HPCL wins the title with a timing of 0.31.38 seconds followed by D.P. Gautham of BPCL stayed no.2 having timing of 0.32.26 seconds and the third position obtained by Animesh Tiwari of EIL with 0.33.72 seconds.
For the veterans category, Pushpendra Batham of BPCL emerged as winner with the timing of 0.36.45 seconds. The second position grabbed by G.S. Vijaykumar of ONGC having the timing of 0.47.38 seconds and the third position obtained by Manoj Biswas of EIL finishing win 0.49.94 seconds.
For Women’s category, Keerti of IOCL wins the title with the timing of 01.04.63 followed by Pooja Bangyal of BPCL (01.34.48) and third position to Pushpa Bharti of IOCL (01.50.29)
Day 2Pushpender wins second consecutive title; Gautham, Keerti shine in their events.Finals of three category events were played on the second day of the 1st PSPB Inter-Unit Swimming Tournament 2021-22. The tournament is being played at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Swimming Stadium in New Delhi and is organized by Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB)Pushpdender Batham of BPCL continued his winning streak and today he won the second title for BPCL by winning the 50 meter Breaststroke Veterans event. His lap timing was 00.50.88 second. The second position was also obtained by BPCL player Shanka Karajagi finishing in 00.55.49 seconds. ONGC player GS Vijaykumar secured third position with the timing 1.03.44 minutes.The Men Breaststroke event won by D.P. Gautham of BPCL with finish time in 00:39:52 seconds followed by Abhinandan Sharma of BPCL (00:51:09 seconds) and the third position secured by PLL player Bhavin Patel in 00:54:10 seconds timing.For the Women category, Keerti of IOCL stayed winner by finishing the lap of 50m Breaststroke in 1:03:35 minutes followed by Pooja Bangyal of BPCL (1:39:94) and Pushpa Bharti of IOCL.
Day 3
Team HPCL wins 4×50 Freestyle Men’s Relay; Veterans Relay won by BPCL
On the last day of the 1st PSPB Inter-Unit Swimming Tournament 2021-22, the team HPCL wins the 4×50 meter Freestyle Relay for the men’s category. The tournament is being played at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Swimming Stadium in New Delhi and is organized by Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB)
Team HPCL sent Anurag Kharab, Dinesh Kumar, Alexander and Suraj C. Shahu. They all exhibited excellent timing and team spirit to finish their lap in 2:33:04 minutes to claim the title. The second and third position was very close where Team EIL (Santhosh W.B., Vaibhav Ratnakar, Gagandeep Singh and Manoj Biswas) grabbed the second position by mere 12 milliseconds. Team EIL completed their lap at 3:23:985 whereas Team BPCL (DP Gautham, Prashanth Suryavanshi, Prakhar Singh and Abhinandan Sharma) finished the lap at 3:23:97.
The veterans’ category 4×50 Freestyle Relay was won by team BPCL (Pushpendra Batham, Deepak Trivedi, Sanjay Suri and Shankar Karajagi). They secured the title with the timing of 03:26:76. For the second position, Team EIL (Manoj Biswas, MK Sharma, Vijay Malik and S. Mahesh Kumar) completed the lap at 5:40:30 and the third position went to team ONGC (Sankalp Shrivastava, GS Vijaykumar, DS Rai, Rajiv Kumar) finishing in 6:50:04.
The 50m Backstroke individual final for the men category was also held today where Suraj C. Shahu (HPCL) emerged as champion (00:37:68) followed by Anurag Kharab of HPCL (00:50:71) for the second position and Vikas (IOCL) for the third position with the timing 1:00:95.
