Union Ministry has made changes in functioning of National Sports Federations with a view to improve the performances of the Indian contingent in Global Stage. Effective from March 1st Ministry has revised the norms under the “Scheme of Assistance” to the sports federations giving them more power to self reliant includes multifold hikes in the remunerations of Chief and National Coaches. If coach is employed in PSU or other organizations is attached to a National Camp then it may be treated as National Duty similarly for the support staff like Doctors, Physiotherapist, Nutritionist, Masseurs and others. There has been two to three – fold hike in their current pay.
